Granite Bay Energy, formerly Granite Bay Solar. The power is yours!

What to Expect

Beginning with the initial consultation and project development, Granite Bay Energy provides a complete turn-key operation. We design and install the generating system, handle all the paperwork, assist in financing when needed, and even prepare the final warranty and tax paperwork.

For your convenience, we’ve gone out of our way to simplify the process of installing a solar electric system at your home, business, or agricultural facility. The following steps apply to homeowners. Businesses and agricultural operations follow a very similar process, but many of the individual steps are more involved and take longer.

  1. Customer requests a free site evaluation.
  2. A Granite Bay Energy representative responds with a phone call within 3 business days. In this call, we determine together whether or not a solar system makes sense for the customer.
  3. Next, we conduct a free, no-obligation site evaluation and prepare a comprehensive proposal that clearly details how much the new system will cost, how long it will take to pay for itself, and what it will look like. At this time, we also discuss a variety of financing options and explain which local, state, and federal rebates and tax incentives apply to you.
  4. Granite Bay Energy and the customer sign a contract.
  5. Granite Bay Energy collects all necessary data for building permits, rebates, and utility interconnection.
  6. Granite Bay Energy applies for the state rebate on the customer’s behalf.
  7. Granite Bay Energy applies for and secures all necessary building permits.
  8. 4-6 weeks after applying for the rebate, Granite Bay Energy receives approval and schedules an installation date with the customer.
  9. Installation typically occurs 5-7 weeks after signing the contract. Most installations take 2-3 days.
  10. Building Department signs off on permit.
  11. Utility company performs its inspection and replaces the meter with a bi-directional or net meter.
  12. Granite Bay Energy representative provides a full system orientation for the customer.
